Providence Weed & Seed is governed by a twenty-member steering committee that meets each month. Its membership is diverse, consisting of residents, business owners, representatives of both local and state government, and community organizations. Meetings are held at the Providence Housing Authority's Facilities Management building at 40 Laurel Hill Ave and are open to all Olneyville and Hartford residents and organizations.

The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) organizes local officials, community representatives, and other stakeholders to form the steering committee. The USOA or his or her designee is the chair or co-chair of a site's Steering Committee. As the linchpin of the Weed & Seed effort, the USOA encourages partnerships and cooperation and supports community-driven efforts.
